We try to follow the Forest School ethos of child led unstructured play, emergent curriculum, and place based learning. As such, many of our meet ups will be recurring, so children can forge a connection with the natural spaces we visit

Our goal is to create regular meet-ups for relationship development among our tweens and teens (ages 10-18). Some events and meet-ups will only be for tweens/upper elementary & middle schoolers and teens/high schoolers, respectively, to allow them to make friends closer to their age groups.

The Forest School Programs of Valley Forest School are focused on nature-based skills including foraging, wild crafting, whittling, fire building, shelter building, and survival skills. Students are immersed in nature on a weekly basis through hikes, nature walks, lake swimming, creek exploration, campfire baking, and foraging for wild edibles. These students experience hands-on primitive skills through knot tying, fire building, local fauna and wildlife identification, and wild crafting.
